Pricing and Availability

Mahindra has revealed competitive pricing for its new electric SUVs:

  • Mahindra BE 6e has been launched at ₹18.90 lakh (ex-showroom). This price does not include the cost of a charger and its installation. Buyers will have the option to choose between two chargers, which will be offered separately.
  • Mahindra XEV 9e comes with a starting price of ₹21.90 lakh (ex-showroom).

These prices are for the Pack 1 versions of both models.

Mahindra’s existing showrooms across the country will handle sales of the XEV 9e and BE 6e. Major showrooms in cities will undergo a revamp, featuring the company’s new all-electric branding. Bookings for these models can be made either at the showrooms or through Mahindra’s official online sales platform.

The official market launch is set for January 2025, with deliveries beginning February 2025.

Key Features

The Mahindra XEV 9e and BE 6e are packed with advanced features designed to enhance the driving experience:

  • Screen Setup: The XEV 9e boasts a 43-inch screen setup, including a Theatre Mode that syncs all screens for an immersive experience. The VisionX auto-adjusting HUD provides navigation cues and ADAS information.
  • Illuminated Infinity Roof: Both models feature an illuminated infinity roof with 16 million colors, which syncs with the vehicle’s speed and can be paired with ambient lighting in the cabin.
  • Ambient Moods and Drive Modes: The cabin offers three ambient moods—Cozy, Calm, and Cabin—each adjusting seat settings, climate control, and lighting. There are also three drive modes: Range, Everyday, and Race.
  • Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS): The vehicles come equipped with Driver Initiated Lane Change Assist, a 360-degree view from five cameras, and an AutoPark function that can be activated from inside or outside the vehicle.
  • UV Protection and Air Filtration: Both models offer enhanced protection from UV rays and feature an advanced purification system in the air filters for better cooling.

Performance

Performance is a key highlight of these new models:

  • Range and Warranty: Both SUVs claim a real-world range of 500 km and offer a lifetime warranty on the battery for the first owner.
  • Power and Acceleration: They deliver 288 bhp and 380 Nm of torque. The XEV 9e accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in 6.8 seconds, while the BE 6e does it in 6.7 seconds.
  • Sound System: The Harman Kardon sound system with Dolby Atmos technology ensures an exceptional audio experience.

Design and Dimensions

The design of the XEV 9e and BE 6e is both functional and stylish:

  • Dimensions: The XEV 9e measures 4,789 mm in length with a boot space of 663 liters, while the BE 6e is 4,371 mm long with a boot space of 455 liters. Both models also feature front trunks.
  • Exterior and Interior Design: The XEV 9e features jewel-like headlights, glowing logos, broad shoulder lines, and end-to-end tail lamps. The BE 6e has a floating front spoiler, aggressive beltline, and a driver-focused cabin inspired by fighter jets.

Battery and Charging

Battery technology and charging capabilities are crucial for EVs:

  • Battery Options: There are two battery pack options—59 kWh and 79 kWh. The larger battery can be charged from 20% to 80% in just 20 minutes using a 175 kW DC fast charger.

Market Positioning

Mahindra aims to compete with luxury EV offerings in the global market:

  • Target Market: The XEV 9e is positioned as a premium model, targeting luxury EV buyers. The BE 6e is aimed at a broader market, competing with models like the MG ZS EV.

The launch of the Mahindra XEV 9e and BE 6e marks a significant step forward for Mahindra in the electric vehicle market. With competitive pricing, advanced features, impressive performance, and stylish design, these models are set to make a strong impact and offer a compelling choice for EV enthusiasts.
