Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest carmaker, has officially announced a price hike across its entire lineup starting February 1, 2025. This move comes as part of the company’s response to rising input and operational costs, which it says has made the adjustment necessary.
The price increase will range between ₹1,500 and ₹32,500, depending on the model. This marks the first blanket price hike by Maruti Suzuki this year. In December 2024, the company had already hinted at an upcoming increase, citing rising costs as the main reason.
Highlights of the Price Hike
- Biggest Hike for Celerio: The Celerio hatchback will see the steepest price rise of ₹32,500.
- Invicto MPV Affected: The Invicto, derived from Toyota’s Innova HyCross hybrid, will also become ₹30,000 more expensive.
- Popular Models Impacted: Cars like the WagonR, Swift, and Baleno will witness hikes ranging from ₹5,000 to ₹15,000.
- SUVs Become Costlier: The Grand Vitara SUV will see a price hike of ₹25,000, while the Brezza’s cost will increase by ₹20,000. The Jimny and Fronx, however, will have relatively smaller increases of ₹1,500 and ₹5,500, respectively.

SUVs Lead the Price Surge
Maruti Suzuki’s SUV lineup will see significant price adjustments. The Grand Vitara, a strong competitor in the compact SUV market against Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos, will witness a ₹25,000 hike. Similarly, the Brezza, Maruti’s best-selling sub-compact SUV rivaling Tata Nexon and Hyundai Venue, will cost ₹20,000 more.
On the other hand, newer models like the Jimny and Fronx will see modest increases, making them more attractive for budget-conscious buyers.
Why the Price Hike?
Maruti Suzuki attributes the increase to rising input costs and operational expenses. The company emphasized that it has made efforts to optimize costs internally but is now passing on a portion of the burden to customers.
Industry-Wide Trend
Maruti Suzuki is not the only carmaker announcing price hikes. Other manufacturers like Hyundai, Mahindra & Mahindra, MG Motor, and luxury brands like Audi, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz have also announced similar adjustments due to rising commodity prices and operational costs.
If you’re planning to purchase a Maruti Suzuki vehicle, it’s best to act quickly before the price hike takes effect on February 1, 2025.
