Tata Motors continues to dominate in safety standards with its recent Bharat NCAP (BNCAP) crash test results. The automaker’s latest models, including the Tata Curvv, Curvv EV, and Nexon, have all secured an impressive 5-star safety rating for both adult and child occupant protection. These results reflect Tata’s commitment to vehicle safety and innovation across both its ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) and EV (Electric Vehicle) lineups.

Tata Curvv & Curvv EV

The Tata Curvv, a coupe-SUV available in both ICE and EV variants, underwent extensive testing as part of the Bharat NCAP crash test program. The results are similar to what anybody would expect, both scored healthy 5 stars in both adult and child ratings though the ICE and EV versions showed slight variations in scores. The Tata Curvv diesel variant (Accomplished + A) and Curvv EV (Empowered + A with a 55kWh battery) were tested, with both achieving top safety ratings.

  • Tata Curvv ICE scored 29.50 out of 32 points for Adult Occupant Protection and 43.66 out of 49 for Child Occupant Protection.
  • Tata Curvv EV outperformed slightly with 30.81 out of 32 points for Adult Occupant Protection and 44.83 out of 49 for Child Occupant Protection.

These results highlight that both versions of the Tata Curvv offer outstanding protection for occupants, making them some of the safest SUVs on Indian roads.

Tata Nexon: Continuing the Legacy of Safety

In addition to the Curvv models, the Tata Nexon, a long-time favorite in the Indian SUV market, also underwent testing. The Nexon earned a stellar 5-star rating, scoring 29.41 out of 32 for Adult Occupant Protection and 43.83 out of 49 for Child Occupant Protection. This test was conducted in August, prior to the Curvv’s testing in September, and further underscores Tata’s commitment to ensuring safety across its lineup.

Tested Variants and Their Safety Performance

The following variants were used for the crash tests:

  • Tata Curvv Accomplished Plus A Diesel Manual (gross weight: 1715 kg)
  • Tata Curvv EV Empowered Plus A 55kWh (gross weight: 1983 kg)
  • Tata Nexon Fearless Plus Diesel MT (gross weight: 1638 kg)

Each of these models demonstrated superior crash safety standards, with minimal differences between the ICE and EV variants, especially in terms of adult and child protection.

Bharat NCAP: Setting New Standards for Vehicle Safety

Bharat NCAP’s comprehensive testing measures ensure that vehicles sold in India meet the highest safety standards. Tata Motors, with six of its models now having earned 5-star ratings in these tests, has clearly positioned itself as a leader in vehicle safety. Both the Tata Curvv and the Tata Nexon set a benchmark for their respective segments, providing unparalleled protection for drivers and passengers alike.

These ratings are particularly significant as they not only demonstrate the effectiveness of Tata’s engineering but also instill confidence in consumers looking for safe, reliable vehicles, whether powered by traditional fuel or electric energy.

Conclusion: A Safe Future with Tata Motors

With the Tata Curvv and Nexon securing top safety ratings, Tata Motors has once again proven its leadership in both innovation and safety. Whether you’re considering a diesel SUV or an electric vehicle, Tata offers models that not only perform well but also provide unmatched protection. As India’s automobile industry moves forward, Tata Motors remains at the forefront, making safety a top priority across all its vehicle offerings.
