BYD India has showcased its latest electric SUV, the BYD Sealion 7, at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 in New Delhi. Marking its fourth passenger EV launch in India within three years, the Sealion 7 aims to capture the premium electric SUV market. Official bookings have begun with an initial token amount of ₹70,000, and prices are expected to be announced in the coming months.
Design and Exterior Features
The BYD Sealion 7 features a sleek fastback design with a low-slung bonnet, smooth lines, and ocean-inspired details. Its distinctive front styling is enhanced by sharper lighting elements, giving it a modern and aerodynamic appeal. Available in four color options – Cosmos Black, Atlantis Grey, Aurora White, and Shark Grey – the Sealion 7 is set to attract attention on the roads.
Interior and Technology
Inside, the Sealion 7 is equipped with BYD’s advanced CTB (Cell To Body) architecture, which enhances battery integration and overall vehicle stability. It also includes the world’s first mass-produced 8-in-1 electric powertrain, integrating components like the motor, transmission, onboard charger, and more into a single, highly efficient system.
Other highlights include:
- Intelligent Torque Active Control (iTAC) for improved safety and handling.
- Boot space of 520 liters (rear) and an additional 58 liters in the frunk.

Performance and Range
The BYD Sealion 7 is available in two drivetrain configurations:
- Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD): 82.5 kWh battery with a motor output of 230 kW and 380 Nm torque, offering a range of up to 482 km (WLTP).
- All-Wheel Drive (AWD): 91.3 kWh battery with a combined output of 390 kW and 690 Nm torque, achieving a range of approximately 455 km.
The top-spec AWD trim extends the range to 500 km. Performance is equally impressive, with the SUV accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds and reaching a top speed of 215 km/h.

Charging and Expansion Plans
