Hyundai is gearing up to electrify the Indian SUV market with the much-anticipated Creta Electric, set to debut on January 17, 2025, at the Bharat Mobility Expo. Pre-bookings for the electric SUV are already open, and now Hyundai has released some more details about the upcoming Electric SUV including its interiors.
Powertrain and Performance
The Hyundai Creta Electric will come with two battery options:
- 42 kWh: Producing 133 BHP, offering a range of 390 km.
- 51.4 kWh: Delivering 169 BHP, offering a range of 473 km, with a 0-100 km/h acceleration in 7.9 seconds.
The larger battery supports DC fast charging, topping up from 10-80% in just 58 minutes, and an 11 kW AC charger can fully charge it in 4 hours.
Variants and Interior Features
The Creta Electric will be available in four variants: Executive, Smart, Premium, and Excellence. While the overall interior design is borrowed from the ICE Creta, the EV-specific elements include:
- New 3-spoke steering wheel with a drive mode selector.
- Shift-by-wire system with controls on the steering column.
- Redesigned center console with cup holders and electronic parking brake.
Premium features include:
- Twin 10.25-inch screens for infotainment and digital cluster.
- Bose audio system with 8 speakers.
- Ventilated seats, cooled glove box, and front armrest storage.
- Digital Key for smartphone and smartwatch integration.
- Over 70 connected features with Hyundai Bluelink.
- Single-pedal driving and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) charging capabilities.
Safety and ADAS
The Hyundai Creta Electric prioritizes safety with:
- 6 airbags and all-wheel disc brakes.
- Level 2 ADAS suite, including Lane Keeping Assist, Forward Collision Warning, and Smart Cruise Control with stop-and-go functionality.
- 360-degree cameras, rain-sensing wipers, and front parking sensors.
- Hill-Start Assist, Hill Descent Control, ESC, VSM, ISOFIX, and TPMS.
Market Positioning and Competition
The Creta Electric will compete with the Tata Curvv EV, Mahindra BE 6, and MG ZS EV. Its blend of range, features, and advanced safety tech positions it as a strong contender in the growing EV market.
