Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has launched the updated 2025 Honda Activa 125, now compliant with OBD2B norms. Packed with advanced features and refreshed aesthetics, the popular scooter continues to set benchmarks in the 125cc segment. Here’s an in-depth look at the latest updates:
Engine and Compliance
The 2025 Activa 125 retains its 123.92cc, single-cylinder, PGM-Fi engine, delivering 8.4 hp and 10.5 Nm of torque. This trusted motor now meets the upcoming OBD2B compliance, ensuring it adheres to stricter emissions norms. Additionally, the engine is equipped with a start-stop system, enhancing fuel efficiency during stop-and-go traffic conditions.
New Features and Technology
The Honda Activa 125 introduces several segment-first features to elevate the rider’s experience:
- 4.2-Inch TFT Display: A new high-resolution TFT display replaces the older LCD unit, offering enhanced clarity and usability. The display is compatible with the Honda RoadSync app, providing riders with navigation assistance, call alerts, and message notifications on the go.
- USB Type-C Charging Port: Activa 125 now comes with a USB Type-C port, allowing riders to charge their devices conveniently.
- Idling Stop System: An idling stop system has been added to improve fuel efficiency and reduce emissions.
Design Updates
The overall design of the Activa 125 remains consistent with its predecessor, maintaining its signature silhouette. However, Honda has introduced contrasting brown seats and inner panels, adding a touch of sophistication to the scooter’s appearance. The Activa 125 is now available in six striking colour options:
- Pearl Igneous Black
- Matt Axis Gray Metallic
- Pearl Deep Ground Gray
- Pearl Siren Blue
- Rebel Red Metallic
- Pearl Precious White
Variants and Pricing
Honda has launched the Activa 125 in two premium variants for now:
- DLX Variant: Priced at ₹94,422 (ex-showroom), this variant offers a host of features, including the TFT display and USB charging.
- H-Smart Variant: The top-spec variant is priced at ₹97,146 (ex-showroom) and includes premium features like keyless ignition and a smart key fob.
This represents a notable increase from the outgoing model’s starting price of ₹80,256, attributed to the inclusion of advanced emissions technology and new features. Honda may introduce more affordable variants in the future to cater to a broader audience.
Competitive Positioning
With its new TFT display and advanced tech, the Activa 125 directly competes with the TVS Jupiter 125 SmartXonnect variant, priced at ₹90,721. The Jupiter 125 also features a TFT display but lacks Honda’s RoadSync app functionality.
