The Honda City, a popular choice in the sedan market, is all set for an exciting facelift in 2025, targeting markets like Brazil initially and expected to reach India shortly after. With a mix of cosmetic upgrades and functional enhancements, the 2025 Honda City facelift is designed to reinvigorate its appeal in a market shifting toward SUVs and crossovers. Here’s a comprehensive look at the updates for India’s favourite sedan. We also have the details for the hatchback model of the City just for comparison.

Exterior Updates

The 2025 Honda City facelift brings notable styling updates, especially on the exterior, which enhance its sophistication and visual appeal.

  • Refreshed Grille: The front grille now sports a more refined design with new horizontal elements, a narrower chrome strip, and an overall cleaner look.
  • Updated Bumpers: Both the sedan and hatchback models feature a redesigned front bumper. The rear bumper, too, has received upgrades with horizontally placed reflective elements for added safety and style.
  • Rear Design: The sedan’s rear design includes a modern bumper with reflective accents, while the hatchback gets a black lower frame for a bolder look.
  • New Alloy Wheels: Depending on the variant, both models get fresh alloy wheel designs ranging from 15inch to 16inch, with dualtone color options for added personalization.

Dimensional Changes

The facelift has also subtly changed the dimensions of both models:

Sedan: An increase of 25 mm in length.

Hatchback: A slight 2 mm increase in length, enhancing its stance without compromising agility.

Interior Enhancements

  • Comfort and Convenience Upgrades: Honda has introduced several cabin upgrades to improve comfort and functionality, making the Honda City facelift more techfriendly and comfortable for passengers.
  • DualZone Automatic Climate Control: Available in the higher Touring variant, this new addition is particularly aimed at enhancing comfort for Brazilian and potentially Indian markets where climate control is a priority.
  • Interior Aesthetic: The cabin now features a white over black theme, closely resembling the India Spec Honda City e:HEV, giving it a premium and spacious feel.
  • Touchscreen Infotainment System: The system has been upgraded with improved graphics, resolution, and a new user interface. Three unique wallpapers are now available for a personalised touch.
  • Wireless Charging and Connectivity: The wireless charging pad has been relocated for easier access. All variants above the base LX now support wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay for seamless smartphone integration.
  • Instrument Cluster and USB Ports: The instrument console comes in two variations depending on the variant: a 4.2inch colour TFT screen or a larger 7 inch TFT unit.
  • USB Charging Options: Two TypeA USB ports at the front and two TypeC ports for rear passengers ensure that all devices can stay charged on the go.

Safety and ADAS Features in the 2025 Honda City

The 2025 Honda City facelift prioritises safety with enhanced features across its lineup:

  • Honda Sensing Suite (from EX variant): Includes Adaptive Cruise Control for maintaining safe speeds, Low-Speed Follow (LSF) for easier driving in traffic, Lane Keeping Assist and Frontal Collision Mitigation for lane and collision safety, and Automatic High Beam for better night visibility.
  • LaneWatch & Honda Connect Suite: Higher-spec EXL and Touring variants feature LaneWatch for blind-spot monitoring and the Honda Connect suite for advanced connectivity, improving safety and user engagement.
  • Standard Safety Features: Six airbags are now standard, while the EX and above include an Electronic Parking Brake with Brake Hold for added convenience and control.

Powertrain

The 2025 Honda City facelift retains its reliable powertrain lineup, maintaining its focus on efficiency and city-friendly performance. It offers the 1.5-liter i-VTEC petrol engine, delivering 119 bhp and 145 Nm of torque, paired with either a six-speed manual or a CVT for smoother handling. The India-specific model may  include the e:HEV hybrid powertrain, which combines 100 bhp and 127 Nm of torque with an electric motor for added performance in congested traffic, optimizing fuel economy and reducing emissions. This hybrid setup is particularly beneficial for city driving, providing efficient mileage and environmental advantages in stop-and-go conditions.

2025 Honda City Facelift Pricing

While Brazilian prices have been revealed, Indian prices are expected to vary based on taxes and local market conditions.

Brazil Market Pricing:

Base LX Variant (Sedan and Hatchback): Starts at R$ 117,500 (approx. ₹17 lakh).

TopSpec Touring Variant (Sedan): Starts at R$ 142,400 (approx. ₹20.7 lakh).

TopSpec Touring Variant (Hatchback): Starts at R$ 141,400 (approx. ₹20.57 lakh).

Indian pricing will likely follow suit with competitive rates in the midsize sedan segment, considering added taxes and customization for the Indian market.

Final Thoughts: Honda City’s Position in the Market

The 2025 Honda City facelift represents Honda’s strategic move to keep its sedan offering fresh and competitive amid rising SUV demand. With cosmetic upgrades, enhanced interiors, and key safety improvements, the City facelift is set to appeal to sedan lovers looking for a premium and feature rich experience. Its hybrid option in India, combined with standard safety features and improved tech, positions the Honda City as a versatile choice for city dwellers and long-distance drivers alike.
