Position Details: Teacher of the Handicapped/Teacher of Students with Disabilities

Title: Teacher of the Handicapped/Teacher of Students with Disabilities
Location: New Providence, NJ and Warren, NJ
Duration: ASAP to 25/26 school year end
Onsite/Virtual: Onsite
Position Type: Contract
Working Hours: 30 to 35 hours weekly, from Monday to Friday
Student Age Group: K-8 or K-6 or P-3
Case Load: Varies with grades, school will be providing the details directly.

Responsibilities: SPED Teacher

Develop and implement individualized lesson plans and instructional strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of students with disabilities.
Create, implement, and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students, ensuring goals are met and documented appropriately.
Conduct assessments and monitor student progress to track their academic, social, and emotional development.
Work closely with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to coordinate services and ensure a cohesive educational plan for each student.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports the unique needs of students with special needs.

Qualifications: Special Education Teacher

NJ DOE Teacher of the Handicapped or Teacher of Students with Disabilities certification.
K-8 or K-6 or P-3 Instructional Certification required.
Preferred experience in classrooms working with students with autism spectrum disorder.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to provide direction and support to classroom teacher assistants.
