About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Blythe, CA

Details:

• In-Person Tutoring in Blythe, CA
• Schedule: 10 hours, 1 session a week for 2 hours
• Pay range is between $25 and $35

Ideal Candidate:

• Credentialed teacher with special education experience supporting students with autism and learning disabilities.
• Strong background in foundational literacy, explicit phonics, multisensory reading instruction (dyslexia-informed), and early math concepts.
• Skilled in delivering highly structured, step-by-step instruction with frequent review and repetition to support memory retention.
• Comfortable using visual supports, manipulatives, and hands-on strategies for math and reading instruction.
• Patient, engaging, and able to build rapport with students who may be initially shy.
• Experienced in supporting homework completion and implementing level-appropriate, data-driven lesson plans aligned with IEP goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide intensive, individualized instruction in reading fluency and comprehension, including phonemic awareness, decoding, letter-sound relationships, vocabulary, sequencing, and main idea.
• Deliver structured writing instruction focusing on sentence formation, organization, spelling patterns, grammar, punctuation, and idea development.
• Support foundational math skills including number recognition, counting, basic addition and subtraction, place value, and simple word problems using visual and manipulative-based strategies.
• Implement consistent review, repetition, and scaffolded instruction to support long-term skill retention.
• Assist with homework completion and reinforce classroom interventions.
• Collaborate with family and align instruction with IEP goals and speech therapy supports.
