Small Engine Mechanic

Wooster, OH

Wooster Power Equipment is currently seeking a reliable and experienced full-time Small Engine Mechanic for Outdoor Power Equipment/Powersports to join our team! In this role, you will specialize in repairing and maintaining parts of the equipment such as engines, fuel systems, hydraulic pumps/wheel motors, transmissions etc.

Schedule:

• Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm
• One Saturday per month (mandatory Saturday work is needed during busy times of year)
• Flexible adjusting work hours
• Pay rate for updated schools and training is $15/hour instead of regular agreed repair wages

Qualifications:

• Outdoor power equipment industry- one year preferred
• High School and/or GED preferred
• Equipment manufactures certifications- EETC is a plus
• Must pass background check and drug screening

Responsibilities:

• Use hand tools, such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges, or precision instruments
• Use power tools, such as pneumatic wrenches, lathes, welding equipment, or jacks and hoists
• Repair and maintain landscape equipment including engines, fluid drive transmissions, electrical, hydraulic, mechanical components on lawn and garden tractors, zero turn mowers, small utility tractors and stand on skid steers. (Equipment can consist of gasoline, diesel and battery powered components)
• Repair and maintain handheld and related equipment including chainsaws, trimmers, blowers, pressure washers and generators.
• Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery
• Diagnostics & repair of EFI engines within given diagnostic times is a must
• Diagnostics & repair on small diesel engines within given diagnostic times is a must
• Diagnostics & repair of broken-down machines or equipment within given diagnostic times is a must
• Test drive equipment to diagnose malfunctions or to ensure that they are working properly
• Raise heavy parts and equipment using hydraulic jacks or hoists
• Disassemble engines to perform maintenance, repair, or replace parts
• Repair and replace wheels and tires
• Assembly of new equipment of many sorts
• Perform all other duties as assigned
