Job Title: Patient Care Associate – Labor & Delivery
Job Type: Long-Term Contract (13 Weeks)
Location: Brooklyn, NY 11206
Shifts: 5 shifts per week (7.5 hours each)
Pay Rate: $26 – $29 per hour (based on experience)
Available Shift Options:
7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
11:30 PM – 8:00 AM
Schedule: Rotating weekends required
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Patient Care Associate (PCA) to join our Labor & Delivery team in Brooklyn, NY. This role supports a multidisciplinary care team by delivering quality care and maintaining a safe, clean, and supportive environment for patients and staff.
Responsibilities:Measure and record vital signs, weights, and collect specimens
Perform basic specimen screening (dipstick, hemoccult)
Provide basic first aid and respond to emergencies (BLS required)
Assist patients with hygiene, wound care, and dressing changes
Prepare examination rooms and patients for procedures
Conduct EKGs, vision/hearing tests, and urinalysis
Label and transport lab specimens; complete associated documentation
Support providers during exams and procedures
Maintain inventory and restock clinical supplies
Escort patients and coordinate interdepartmental appointments
Accurately document care and observations in hospital systems
Interview patients to gather health history and report observations
Deliver excellent patient communication and customer service
Assist in onboarding new staff as needed
High School Diploma or equivalent
Active AHA BLS Certification
Completion of a NYS Department of Health-approved Phlebotomy Training Program
Formal training in EKG performance in a healthcare setting
Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Labor & Delivery
