We are looking for a skilled Part Time Accountant to join our team in Allentown, Pennsylvania. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic accounting department while honing your expertise in financial management and reporting. The ideal candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate records, ensuring compliance, and supporting organizational goals.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and manage general accounting tasks, ensuring accurate and timely financial operations.
- Assist in generating periodic financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
- Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded.
- Process invoices, create new accounts, reconcile financial records, and oversee monthly account closures.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations, verify deposits, and address inquiries from banking institutions.
- Manage accounts receivable collections and reconcile customer accounts to ensure prompt payments.
- Verify invoice payments related to accounts payable and allocate expenses to appropriate accounts.
- Support the Controller with month-end closings, annual reviews, and required accounting filings.
- File tax forms with federal, state, and local agencies in compliance with regulations.
- Collaborate with software vendors to optimize accounting systems and recommend updates for improved functionality.
Requirements - Proficiency in accounting software systems and enterprise resource planning (ERP) tools.
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles and practices.
- Experience managing accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes.
- Ability to perform in-depth account reconciliations and audits with accuracy.
- Solid knowledge of balance sheet account management and financial reporting.
- Familiarity with filing tax forms and ensuring compliance with government regulations.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in handling financial data.
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively within a team environment.
