Traditional public and private schools are leaving families frustrated, while homeschooling, though the fastest-growing alternative puts tremendous strain on parents. The system isn’t working, and families are stuck choosing between rigid institutions or overwhelming do-it-yourself solutions.

Founded by Black Dragon Capital, technology entrepreneurs, and pioneers in education, Dragons Academy was founded by successful technology entrepreneurs, engaged educators and pioneers in education-based programs to create a next generation fully accredited 1 to 1 learning school for grades K to 12, where personalized education unlocks the full potential of students while providing unprecedented flexibility and oversight by parents and families. Through at-home, virtual, and in-person personalized instruction, we empower students to thrive while giving families the freedom and support they need.

Role Overview

Our Ideal Candidate:

We are seeking passionate, reflective elementary teachers with an entrepreneurial spirit and a drive to create a different kind of learning experience. The ideal candidate will not only deliver highly personalized instruction, but also inspire curiosity, foster foundational academic skills, and nurture confidence and independence across core subjects including reading, writing, math, science, and social studies. We want educators who share in the frustration with traditional learning environments and are eager to build a better future—one student at a time.

The right educator will:

• Reimagine traditional lessons as launchpads, designing bold, engaging experiences that not only build literacy and numeracy but also spark critical and entrepreneurial thinking.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design immersive learning experiences across core science subjects, for grades 6–12, that feel less like “lessons” and more like personal journeys.
• Adapt strategies to meet every student’s unique style, transforming challenges into opportunities.
• Experiment with new models and tools that disrupt the traditional mold of education.
• Measure what matters, using assessments not as shackles, but as instruments for growth and innovation.
• Collaborate deeply with families to co-create individualized learning paths that empower rather than constrain.
• Contribute to the blueprint of Dragons Academy, helping shape the policies, culture, and direction of a school determined to lead education into its next era.

Qualifications:

Knowledge / Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Science Education, a scientific discipline, or related field (master’s preferred).
• Must hold valid Florida Teacher Certification in Middle Grades Science 5–9 or Science 6–12, OR a Temporary Florida Teaching Certificate with an agreement to complete requirements for full Florida Educator Certification in one of those areas within three years of employment start date.
• Minimum of 3 years of teaching or tutoring experience in middle and high school grades preferred.
• Strong background in science instruction and inquiry-based learning.
• Experience with interdisciplinary and project-based teaching approaches.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Driven, reflective learner with a growth mindset 
• Must have empathy for students and enthusiasm for developing personalized, one-to-one learning relationships.
