Are you looking for a dynamic and rewarding career in a growing field? The California Department of Justice (DOJ) is seeking highly motivated individuals who are

detailed oriented, highly organized and can collaborate in a team environment to serve as an eDiscovery Project Manager (SSMI Specialist).

Under the direct supervision of the eDLS Operations Manager (SSMII), the eDiscovery Project Manager performs a broad range of tasks in connection with eDiscovery

litigation and investigations.

  • Lead and manage large, complex, difficult and sensitive cases while following best practice
  • Understand and work with litigation support systems: Relativity, CaseMap, TextMap, TimeMap, Trial Director, and LAW
  • Serve as subject matter expert (SME) and senior consultant for eDLS to DOJ legal teams
  • Research, test and develop new and emerging eDiscovery technologies
  • Develop and lead eDiscovery training sessions for DOJ legal team

Working Conditions

This position is a hybrid schedule, i.e. combined remote and in-office work schedule, be in office two day per week. All telework schedules are subject to change and may be reevaluated at any time.

Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:


Knowledgeable in database and spreadsheet software systems, Relativity, Concordance, CaseMap, or other litigation support software; paralegal or law office training and experience; experience in the Office of the Attorney General or other large law office; experience developing document management and information management systems for large case and complex litigation; works well with team dynamics and self-motivated for individual projects; college education.
