The upcoming Nissan cars in India for 2025-2026 include a Renault Triber-rival MPV, a Hyundai Creta-rival SUV, and more. Teasers hint at fresh designs and smart engineering. With launches starting late 2025, Nissan aims to hit 100,000 annual sales by 2026. Here’s a deep dive into these upcoming Nissan cars in India, blending affordability and premium flair.

Nissan’s India Revival Plan

Posts on X and web reports confirm four key models by March 2026: a three-row MPV, a 5-seater SUV, a 7-seater SUV, and an affordable EV. Built at the Renault-Nissan plant in Chennai, these will serve India and 65+ export markets under the “One Car, One World” strategy.

Nissan Three-Row Compact MPV: Triber Rival

Nissan dropped the first teaser of its compact MPV in March 2025. Set for a festive season launch in late 2025 (FY25), this upcoming Nissan car in India rivals the Renault Triber. Sharing the CMF-A platform, it promises a unique look despite its badge-engineering roots.

Exterior Design

The MPV stands out from the Triber. It sports a larger C-shaped grille with hexagonal vents and a centered Nissan logo. A silver wraparound bumper adds distinction. Projector headlamps mimic the Triber’s shape but feature new LED DRL signatures at the top. The rear, though unteased, will reportedly have a silver-treated bumper and unique tail-light detailing. Functional roof rails and fresh alloy wheels complete the package.

Interior and Features

Inside, the MPV borrows from the Magnite. Expect dual-tone upholstery with quilted detailing on top trims. The 8.0-inch touchscreen, 7.0-inch TFT cluster, and steering wheel echo the Magnite’s design. Like the Triber, its 7-seat layout with a modular third row is the highlight. Features include wireless charging, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, a cooled storage box, and sliding second-row seats.

Engine and Gearbox

Mechanically, it’s a Triber twin. The 1.0L petrol engine delivers 72hp and 96Nm, paired with a 5-speed manual or AMT. A turbo-petrol option (100hp, 160Nm) isn’t planned initially, per Nissan. X posts suggest fans hope for more power, but it’s off the table for now.

Pricing and Production

Manufactured in Chennai, it’s export-ready alongside the Triber. Pricing is expected at Rs 6-10 lakh, slightly above the Triber’s Rs 6.10-8.99 lakh.

It’ll challenge the Maruti Ertiga and Kia Carens in the budget MPV race.

Nissan C-Segment SUV: Creta Rival

Next up is Nissan’s Hyundai Creta rival, launching in early 2026 (FY26). Built on the CMF-B platform with the new Renault Duster, this upcoming Nissan car in India targets the compact SUV giants—Creta, Seltos, Kushaq, and Grand Vitara.

Exterior Design

Teasers from December 2023 show a rugged silhouette akin to the Duster. Nissan draws inspiration from the Patrol, with L-shaped LED DRLs linked by a chrome strip. Two thin chrome bars span the grille, hosting the logo. Slimmer headlights, a horizontal grille, and C-shaped silver cladding set it apart. The bonnet’s creases and multi-spoke alloys add flair. Note: the production model may tone down concept elements.

Interior and Features

The interior mirrors the Duster’s layout but ups the ante. Top trims get a 10.1-inch touchscreen, 7-inch digital cluster, 360-degree camera, rear AC vents, and drive modes. Nissan tweaks the UI for a distinct feel. ADAS is unconfirmed for India, though offered globally on the Duster.

Engine and Gearbox

It’s petrol-only at launch. The 1.3L turbo-petrol churns out 154hp and 250Nm, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch auto. A manual option is TBD. AWD, seen on some Dusters, remains unconfirmed for India.

Pricing and Positioning

Expected at Rs 10-15 lakh, it’ll sit above the old Terrano. Nissan may ditch that name for a fresh identity, targeting Creta head-on.

A 7-seater version is slated for late FY26, rivaling the Tata Safari and Mahindra XUV700.

Magnite Facelift and CNG

Launched October 2024, the Magnite facelift starts at Rs 6.14 lakh. A CNG variant, retrofitted at dealerships, is due soon. It keeps the 1.0L engines (72hp/100hp turbo).

Affordable EV

By March 2026, Nissan plans a Rs 10-12 lakh EV. Likely a compact SUV, it could offer a 300-400 km range, challenging the Tata Punch EV.

Rumored Models

  • Qashqai: A Rs 25-30 lakh premium SUV, tested in 2023, but unconfirmed for 2025.
  • Juke: A sub-4m SUV at Rs 10-15 lakh, speculated, yet unclear.

Why It’s Big

Nissan’s Chennai hub will export these models globally. The upcoming Nissan cars in India mix mass-market appeal (MPV, EV) with premium punch (C-SUV). The Triber-rival MPV launches by Diwali 2025, followed by the Creta-rival in 2026. With the Magnite’s success—exported to 65+ countries—this lineup could triple Nissan’s 2% market share, per industry trends.

Final Charge

The upcoming Nissan cars in India promise variety and value. The MPV’s family-friendly design, the C-SUV’s rugged edge, and the EV’s green appeal stand out. Which one sparks your interest?
