Royal Enfield unveiled the Scram 440 at Motoverse 2024. This new addition to the company’s lineup builds upon the success of its predecessor, the Scram 411, offering enhancements in performance, design, and versatility. Available in two variants—Trail and Force—the Scram 440 is priced at Rs 2.08 lakh and Rs 2.15 lakh (ex-showroom, Chennai), respectively. It is offered at a price difference of Rs 2,000-Rs 3,000 compared to the Scram 411.

Design and Features
The Scram 440 stays true to its adventurous roots with modern updates that enhance its appeal. It features a circular LED headlamp, a single-pod instrument console, and wide handlebars fitted with knuckle guards for added protection. The bike’s 795 mm seat height ensures accessibility for riders of varying heights, while its robust 196 kg weight (with a full tank) speaks to its rugged build.
Both variants—Trail and Force—come equipped with switchable ABS and LED headlights as standard. The Trail variant is fitted with wire-spoked wheels, ideal for off-road enthusiasts, while the Force variant offers alloy wheels compatible with tubeless tires, catering to urban riders.
The Scram 440 is available in five striking color options: blue and green for the Trail variant, and blue, teal, and grey for the Force variant. The bike’s 15-liter fuel tank ensures long-distance touring capability without frequent refueling stops.
Engine and Performance
At the heart of the Scram 440 is a 443cc air/oil-cooled, single-cylinder engine derived from the Scram 411. This refined powerplant delivers 25.4 hp at 6,250 rpm and 34 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm, offering ample low-end grunt and mid-range performance for both on-road and off-road conditions.

Royal Enfield has increased the bore size by 3mm compared to the 411’s engine and paired this larger mill with a new 6-speed gearbox. The additional cog improves highway cruising capabilities, while refinements to the SOHC valvetrain reduce noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) levels for a smoother ride.
Suspension and Chassis
The Scram 440 is built for versatility and durability. It features a telescopic front fork with 190 mm of travel and a monoshock rear suspension offering 180 mm of travel, ensuring a comfortable ride across various terrains. The chassis has been reinforced to accommodate an additional 10 kg payload, making it suitable for mounting a top box or carrying extra luggage.
The bike’s suspension setup and strengthened frame make it an excellent choice for touring and adventure riding, while its manageable weight ensures ease of handling for riders.
