Royal Enfield has officially launched its new electric sub-brand, Flying Flea, with its debut model, the C6, set for a spring 2026 release. Flying Flea aims to bring lightweight, urban-focused EV motorcycles to the market with a unique retro-modern design philosophy.
The Design and Build of the C6
The C6 combines classic aesthetics with modern electric engineering. It features a low-slung bobber style with a raked front end and a single saddle, reminiscent of old-school motorcycles. Unique to the C6 is a girder-style front fork, an unusual choice that reflects Royal Enfield’s vintage-inspired design ethos.
The frame is crafted from forged aluminum, enhancing both strength and lightness—an uncommon feature in budget EVs. The bike’s compact, nimble form is completed by skinny tires for agility in urban settings and improved range efficiency due to reduced rolling resistance.
Features and Equipment
Flying Flea’s C6 comes equipped with a touchscreen TFT dashboard, exclusive switchgear, and full-LED lighting with a distinct headlight design. Disc brakes are provided on both the front and rear wheels, ensuring reliable stopping power.
This single-seater is designed for urban use, but Flying Flea will offer an optional pillion seat attachment. This adds versatility for riders who might occasionally need to carry a passenger.
The S6 Scrambler: A Tease of What’s Next
In addition to the C6, Flying Flea has also hinted at a second model, the S6 Scrambler. Designed for more adventurous rides, the S6 will feature longer-travel suspension, spoked wheels with dual-purpose tires, and a bench-style seat. This model is likely to appeal to those looking for a lightweight electric bike that can handle rougher terrain beyond urban streets.
Availability and Distribution
The Flying Flea C6 is expected to be available in spring 2026, but Royal Enfield has yet to clarify whether it will be sold through the main Royal Enfield dealership network or via dedicated Flying Flea outlets. This detail will be key to the brand’s distribution strategy and its approach to entering the EV market.
With Flying Flea, Royal Enfield is venturing into uncharted territory, blending nostalgic styling with modern technology in the EV sector. The success of the C6 will set the tone for Flying Flea’s future and Royal Enfield’s position in the urban electric mobility landscape.
